WHAT IS LIPTEMBER?

A campaign dedicated to raising funds and awareness for women's mental health, harnessing the true potential of the collective, encouraging and inspiring people to listen, share, and learn. Helping start the conversation off, by popping a little colour on; individuals are encouraged to register online and seek sponsorship from family, friends and co-workers for committing to wear the lippy throughout September. Funds raised during the month are donated to the Centre for Women’s Mental Health, Lifeline, Batyr, RUOK?, The Jean Hailes Foundation and The Pretty Foundation

WHY WOMEN'S MENTAL HEALTH? At Liptember we're committed to supporting gender specific mental health issues for women, while placing a strong emphasis on gender when it comes to mental health. In the past the majority of mental health research, programs and services were based on men, then applied to women, leading to many outcomes missing the mark. With a gender lens placed on mental health, research becomes more accurate and support programs experience higher success rates.
