It is a vehicle for social change, a means by which values and norms are challenged, and a forum for political discussion. It has been this way since the earliest days of the art form. Ancient Greek tragedies, Shakespearean romances and even modern THEATRE PRODUCTION: FROM THE SCRIPT TO THE STAGE To help you understand what all goes into the average production, here is a rough outline of how plays get from the script to the stage. Not every director, company, producer or individual play will follow this exact process, but it will give you an idea of how the typical production schedule will run: 1. WHY SHAKESPEARE IS STILL IMPORTANT IN THE THEATRE Here are some reasons why Shakespeare is still important in the theatre. 1. Standard Human Issues. Most people love to hear stories about the human condition with topics such as vengeance, love and friendship. Shakespeare wrote beautifully about the topics that both bring people together and tear them apart. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN METHOD ACTING AND CLASSICAL ACTING As an actor, in addition to getting those lines memorized, you’ll come to a very important crossroads in terms of how you will bring the character you’re playing to life.What follows is a comparison of two of the principal acting styles in use today: method acting and classical acting. The style you will follow will depend on the nature of the play you’re a part of and will also PERFECT PITCH VS RELATIVE PITCH: HOW TO TRAIN YOUR EAR Perfect Pitch vs Relative Pitch. Just to clear things up a bit, “perfect pitch” means that you are able to identify a single pitch. For instance, if you hear a C sharp, you know that it is a C sharp.
