Light Work Lab is a member-supported, community-access photography makerspace for individuals pursuing artistic projects. Our facility in Syracuse, New York has been used by artists for over 40 years and our expert staff offer printing, scanning, and retouching services to artists located around the globe. ARKO DATTO | LIGHT WORK Arko Datto. September 2020. Before stepping into the world of contemporary photography, Arko Datto was on course to receive a doctorate in theoretical sciences. Datto’s practice interrogates what it means to be a photographer in the digital age while simultaneously playing the observer and commentator’s role on critical issues. Jeffrey Hoone, Director of Light Work since 1982, has been a working artist his whole life. He has exhibited his work extensively, has served on peer review panels for the New York State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, and was awarded a photography fellowship from the New York Foundation for the Arts.
