HANDLING PITCHERS
Hi! I am going to take a little different road here, so please be patient. My son is a freshman catcher and is the starting catcher for the Jv in his highschool. His four year goal is to be a better catcher in two areas. He wants to be able to handle his pitchers as best as he can and he wants to call his own game. Ok, what do you find helps you out there when you are in trouble ( your’reTOWEL DRILLS
im not entering an argument at all here. message board arguments are winless and waste of time. doing something different, using different terminology. using different methods of teaching by no means makes the other person wrong. thats what makes coaching baseball so great. you can always learn and be exposed to new ideas.( even though most new ideas are old ones recycled with new CURVEBALL - PITCHING - LET'S TALK PITCHING - BASEBALL Marshall’s curveball is a curveball. The palm is not between the ball and the head. The palm is facing close to second base and the back of the hand close to home plate. The hand/wrist must be in an extremely supinated position for this to be possible. From this supinated position, one would pronate while the arm is acceleratingforward.

Thats the whole point! When working off flat ground you need to keep your mechanics the same. It just puts less stress on your arm. The best thing to do while warming up and throwing is to use pitching mechanics leg lift and all to emulate emulate emulate. IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURES, CHECK OUT WWW.BASEBALLIDEAS.BLOGSPOT.COM The Catapult: Getting the Shoulder to the Correct Position I have read a lot recently about the mechanics on Mark Prior, the great young pitcher for the Chicago Cubs. I have even seen some photos of his external rotation of the elbow. In the picture, Prior’s elbowCHANGE UP HELP
Here is my problemI have messed around with different change up grips in the past but right now i’ve been trying to throw a 2-Seam circle change up The problem is it really has no movement, and any change up grip I try seams to always be high, or right down the middleIf you have any advice please let me know. Thanks, Matt YES ANOTHER GYROBALL POST i have finally perfected the gyroball and unlike dice-K its not a fluke. and ive also converted it into another pitch. im a RHP and so i would turn my wrist into my body. but instead i grip it the same but i turn my wrist out the oppisite way. it moves the same as a gyroball just in the oppisite way and with way more break would it still be a gyroball or would it be somthing else?EFFECTIVE CURVEBALL
i was wondering how to make your curveball curvemore. i can throw a curveball but it doesnt curve all the time and i dont feel im doing it quite right can someone help me out on where exactly to hold the ball in your hands to make a bigger curve 3/4 SHIRTS - PITCHING - LET'S TALK PITCHING - BASEBALL I’ve done it to a couple of long sleeve shirts - yes, the under armouer style material. It didn’t fray either. They aren’t bluejeans.

MEASURING YOUR PITCHING SPEED, WITHOUT A RADAR GUN ok, ive found this very usefull. this is how u do it. Measure exactly how far your pitching from. (measureing tape) get some one to time how fast it takes you to throw the ball to the backcatcher/fence. (stopwatch) take the numbers and divide distance by time. Ex./ say some one throws the ball from 65feet in .70 seconds. divide 65 into .70 and you should get the speed. 65/.70= 92mphMUSCLE SPASMS?
Now i think i have been getting Muscle Spasms in my NON throwing arm. Now my question is, am i correct saying i have a Muscle Spasm? Its in my bicep and my neck and back. But like it feels that it has its own pulse it is WEIRD! And you can see it bulging in and out. It doesnt do it all the time but it will do it for 5-10 minutes than stop. Than it will randomly start again? So my question is WHAT'S A "GOOD" ERA FOR A LEGION PITCHER? I’m just curious on your opinions. I’m 2-1 on the year thus far, with an ERA of 4 flat. I’m hoping to be in the 3’s range when the years done with. I know some of you crazy guys on here have like .76 ERA’s or something. 3/4 SHIRTS - PITCHING - LET'S TALK PITCHING - BASEBALL I’ve done it to a couple of long sleeve shirts - yes, the under armouer style material. CAN I GAIN 10 MPH AT 22 YEAR OLD? Let's Talk Pitching - Baseball Discussion Forum Gain 10 mph at 22 years old? I would like to have your opinion on the following question : Do you think is possible to gain 10 mph as a senior in college with the result I have presently ? BAUERFEIND JAMES ANDREWS UCL BRACE Currently rehabbing Tommy John and am wondering about this brace that Dr. James Andrews came out with that is supposed to combat UCL injuries via limiting elbow hyperextension. I asked my physical therapist to look at this and tell me her thoughts and she said that the type of stress that causes UCL damage is valgus stress and not extension of the elbow. If anyone has any thoughts IT SEEMS THAT A LATE HAND BREAK IS THE WAY TO GO Late compared to who? Or by whose definition? Yo might think it is late compared to yourself. But I’d say it’s right on time for him. In general, I think the hand break needs to fit in with a pitcher’s timing and rhythm. It needs to be comfortable. GETTING A KID FROM BACKING OFF THE PLATE Is there a suggestion out there on how to get a kid from backing off the plate while batting. I know the, put something behind them, but I was wanting a mental suggestion. If they aren’t thinking about getting hit then they won’t back up.ANYONE IN NJ
