Changing Places accessible changing room. The National Trust have a fully accessible changing room at Fell Foot park on the shore of Windermere, a popular spot for picnics and getting out on the water. They also have an all-terrain wheelchair to borrow. WATER : LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK The Lake District has so many lakes, largely because of the volcanic rock which does not allow water to seep away. The high rainfall, combined with the extra deep glacial valleys, means that the valleys are able to store large volumes of water.
