IDPH, GOV. PRITZKER ANNOUNCE MITIGATIONS FOR SUBURBAN COOK The mitigations do not currently apply to schools. Suburban Cook County joins regions from around the state, including DuPage and Kane counties in the western suburbs, in receiving the enhanced mitigations, but is the first to do so without hitting the 8% test positivity rate fail-safe. PRITZKER: ILLINOIS RECEIVED MORE UNEMPLOYMENT CLAIMS IN 5 The computer system that processes unemployment claims for Illinois was built in 2010, in the wake of the 2008 recession. That system was built with the idea that unemployment wasn’t likely to exceed levels seen in 2008 and 2009, even in the worst of economic recessions. EYE ON ILLINOIS: READER FEEDBACK ON Q PIECE HITS FROM BOTH The pushback was swift— and bilateral. On Saturday, I credited U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Channahon, for tweeting there is “no place in Congress” for conspiracies like the bizarre QAnon movement that has taken root in various corners of the internet and, unfortunately, among members of his party poised to win elections in November.
