Each year, beginning in the Spring, the LCG begins the annual budget preparation COMPOSTING - LAFAYETTELA.GOV Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturdays 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. (SECOND SATURDAYS ONLY in December, January & February). Machinery is available to load pickup trucks and trailers. Vehicles with an enclosed back (a car or truck with a camper top) will require citizens to load the compost with their own shovel and container (s). Please complete the application online and print it; if you do not have available internet access or the ability to print the application, you may visit any branch of the Lafayette Public Library System to use thepublic computers.
BUILDING CODES
A structure that is built such as a metal building (with steel columns, beams, girts, and purlins), a pre-engineered building or a pole barn requires a permit, floorplan, and an engineered stamped set of plans which includes the wind load certification. A structure that is built to the prescriptive code does not require a wind loadcertification.
