Nearly all tribal councils across the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta have locked down their villages to slow the spread of COVID-19. In a virtual town hall on Nov. 23, Association of Village Council Presidents CEO Vivian Korthuis said that at least 45 of the region’s 48 communities “are in either lockdown, hunker down, or shelter inplace.”
