We are fortunate to have some really excellent knife manufacturers out there today who bless us with blades of the finest quality to meet our ever growing standards. THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO KNIFE HANDLE MATERIALS Aluminum. Aluminum, usually anodized for color, hardness and protection, is a very durable material for knife handles. It’s a low density metal that provides for a nice, hefty feel to the knife without weighing the knife down. The most common type of aluminum used today is the T6-6061 alloy which has tremendous tensile strength. BENCHMADE MINI OSBORNE It’s no secret we’ve been long time fans of the Benchmade Osborne 940 here at Knife Informer. And now Benchmade has released the OsborneMini!
THE BEST DIRT CHEAP KNIVES The F754 is a comfortable, well-rounded EDC blade with a do-everything blade shape. This full size Ganzo also features an Axis lock, milled steel liners, and the choice of several colors of G10 overlays. The action is not as smooth as most of the other THE MOST OVERRATED KNIVES But the Medford is the chunky Praetorian, which seems like a product from a bygone era. The huge blade is almost twice the width of most folding pocket knives, and the primary bevel starts so low down the blade that the Praetorian seems more like a sharpened prybar than a knife. You could use it to shovel dirt, I suppose. STAY SAFE AGAINST KNIVES WITH PROTECTIVE CLOTHING Stab proof vests are typically offered in the covert style. A covert vest is intended to be worn under clothing and thus, concealable. Lightweight and thinner than an overt (worn above clothing) vest, covert body armor is exceptionally comfortable to wear. With this, the wearer is able to have concealable protection which is a necessity KERSHAW LAUNCH 5 REVIEW The Launch 5, like some of the other Launch series knives, is a collaboration design, this one with Ernest Emerson . It looks like an Emerson, for sure, and the blade is quite a practical thing. Measuring 3.5” and cut out from 0.12” thick blade stock, the Launch 5 has a mild clip point which places the tip above the pivot line slightly. CHRIS REEVE SEBENZA 31 REVIEW Chris Reeve Sebenza 31 Review. The Sebenza. The knife that all folders have been compared to for decades. It has been, for all intents and purposes, the bar setting standard. For 31 years now, we have seen the Sebenza go through many iterations, including blade steel changes, packaging upgrades, and overall subtle design revisions. Buy @BladeHQ.
JAMES BRAND THE CARTER China. Price Range. About $150. The James Brand has come up with another striking design with The Carter. Featuring a slide-lock mechanism, a corrosion-resistant VG-10 stainless steel blade, Micarta scales and a deep-carry, reversible pocket clip, the Carter is pretty damn sexy. It’s slim and lightweight, but fully capable in anyenvironment.
SPYDERCO NATIVE 5 (S110V FRN) REVIEW Spyderco C41GPDBL5 Native 5 S110V with G10 textured blue/purple scales (~$150) – Like the knife we have reviewed the Native 5 model C41GPDBL5 offers the CPM-S110V super steel and same design configuration, but substitutes the FRN handle scales in favor of G10 with almost the exact same color profile (though in G10 tends to lookpurple).

Before we dive into the blade specs and info, let’s clear up the pricing mentioned above. The Endela has a base price of ~$90. I’d argue that any folder coming from a big name production knife company under $100 is quite fair, and nearly budget level (although this may be just a knife nut’s way of justifying another “cheap knife” to add to the collection). KOENIG ARIUS REVIEW
The Koenig Arius is a nice knife. A very nice knife. It rivals the action of the most highly praised knives around, the Norseman and the Specter. It has the ergonomics similar to a Spyderco Shaman, but with the most premium build materials around. It’s a USA made knife, from a small company with a heartfelt back story. The Schrade Extreme sports Micarta handles, and a 6.4” blade length and 5.6” handle length. The knife weighs 1.1 lbs., and comes with a nylon sheath. The shape of the knife is very nice indeed and is ergonomically wonderful in hand. It is also a lean looking knife design, and that makes the WE 702B stealthy in appearance. Added in the appearance is the partial line design cutout on the front handle that has 3 small holes for additional design aesthetic. The blade also looks fantastic. LANSKY DELUXE SHARPENING KIT REVIEW Let’s talk about knife maintenance. There are a few things any knife nut needs to have in their collection of knife maintenance items: a good set of Torx bits and a driver (I recommend Wiha), some appropriate pivot oil (I often use 3-in-1, feel free to throw stones), medium-yield Loctite, and of course – a sharpener..
