I am almost to my two year “Ketoversary” and in the last year, the weight loss became really noticeable and these last 30 pounds I lost have made the most impact, I think. In the beginning of my fat loss journey, nobody really noticed. KETO SHOULD NOT BE COMPLICATED Keto does not have to be complicated. People make it complicated when they treat it like a diet, or, even worse, when they treat it like some kind of magical formula. The truth is, though, you can choose the least complicated path for yourself. The path that will cause the least amount of stress. GOOD FATS AND BAD FATS As I explained in this article, a ketogenic diet is a very high fat diet.But, as with anything, there are good and bad choices when it comes to the kinds of fat you should eat. You need to change your fat grams to 142 grams. You could keep the protein the same. And you’d need to adjust the carbs to 10 grams. That would give you a 75% fat intake, 23% protein, and the rest (roughly 2%) is carbs. 5 (NON-CARB) FOODS YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST AVOID Quinoa (pronounced: keen-wah) is a grain harvested in South America and has recently been labeled a “superfood”. I have had conversations with people, ketogenic people, who will insist that quinoa is not a carb, but, instead, that it’s a protein. This is because quinoa is VERY high in protein. For a grain. SALT: THE PRIZE JEWEL OF KETO Salt (Sodium, Na) performs many important functions in the body. It helps keep our cells hydrated through assisting the elasticity of the cell wall. It assists in maintaining the delicate fluid balance in and surrounding all the cells in our body.
