Flipping on tabular numbers. Columns of data are easier to compare when each number is visually aligned. Stephanie Hobson pointed this out during her excellent talk Flipping Tables, at Vancouver’s Style & Class meetup (and more recently here).. Setting arbitrary constraints is a useful way to stay focused while learning and making type and lettering.. Design is driven by constraints; when a self-initiated project or educational opportunity appears to have none, I’ve found I needed to create rules for myself—or have them created for me. START A BLOG WITH HARP • KENNETH ORMANDY In Jade, the exclamation mark is preventing yield from being escaped. The same is true of the hyphen in EJS.. With either, you’ll notice main.css is referenced, even though that file isn’t actually in the folder; main.less is. Riley Cran’s Mort Modern type family was his most comprehensive retail typeface release to date. Building on our experience building the Moriston and Escafina type specimen sites, we sought to make the site an even more cohesive piece of the visual identity for the typeface.. From here, you’ll be able to upload additional files you need for your site—in this case, web fonts. The Custom CSS page on Squarespace, using the default “Bedford” template. Scroll to the bottom of the Custom CSS section, and press “Manage Custom Files.”. START A BLOG WITH HARP • KENNETH ORMANDY In Jade, the exclamation mark is preventing yield from being escaped. The same is true of the hyphen in EJS.. With either, you’ll notice main.css is referenced, even though that file isn’t actually in the folder; main.less is. Design is driven by constraints; when a self-initiated project or educational opportunity appears to have none, I’ve found I needed to create rules for myself—or have them created for me.
