A history of Excellence Professional Ballet Company and School. Founded in 1957, Kansas City Ballet is a 30-member professional ballet company under the direction of Artistic Director Devon Carney and Executive Director Jeffrey J. Bentley. KANSAS CITY DANCE SCHOOL Learn From The Best. Kansas City Ballet School (KCBS) is the official school of Kansas City Ballet. Under the direction of School Director Grace Holmes, the School offers a complete, professional curriculum for our Academy students. CELTS - IRISH FOLK DANCE AND BALLET - KC BALLET - OFFICIAL Lila York debuted Celts at Boston Ballet – a year before Michael Flatley’s Riverdance became a sensation – and is a stunning fusion of Irish folk dance and ballet. Set to the music of The Chieftains and more, this celebration of Irish culture has brought audiences to their feet with its choreographically intense jig and captivating energy. KANSAS CITY BALLET COMPANY AUDITIONS MAIN COMPANY & KCB II AUDITIONS ARE CLOSED. Trainee Auditions are still OPEN 2021 Audition Requirements. Kansas City Ballet will not be conducting in person auditions for the 2021-2022 season, but will be accepting online audition materials for consideration. TRAINEES - KC BALLET - BALLET TRAINING IN KANSAS CITY The Second Company includes KCB II and the Trainee Program, both Professional Division products of Kansas City Ballet School. The Trainee Program aims to nurture and develop the technical skills and artistry of young aspiring post-secondary dancers. KANSAS CITY BALLET SUMMER INTENSIVE The Kansas City Ballet Summer Intensive offers a curriculum focused on classical ballet with exposure to a variety of dance disciplines. Artistic staff and school faculty of Kansas City Ballet combine to create one of the best summer intensive offered in the country.ADMINISTRATION
Kansas City Ballet has dedicated administration professionals who ensure that the company will continue to grow and inspire dancers inthe community.

Kansas City Ballet was founded in 1957 by Tatiana Dokoudovska with the goal of establishing a regular presence for ballet in the city. For 20 years she nurtured the company before her retirement. In 1980, Todd Bolender—a former New York City Ballet dancer an international opera and ballet choreographer was chosen to lead. During his tenure, in 1986 the company was renamed the SECOND COMPANY @ HOME: EPISODE 1 Second Company @ Home: Broadcast Series showcases many of the works learned and performed by the Second Company during the 2020-2021 season. These three, 20-minute episodes each include an introduction from Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney, two pieces performed by members of the group, and interviews with company members, as well as other behind-the-scenes KANSAS CITY BALLET DANCERS Kansas City Ballet, a professional ballet company of 30 dancers (and a Second Company comprised of KCB II and Trainees), was incorporated in 1957 by Founder and Artistic Director Tatiana Dokoudovska to serve Greater Kansas City.SCHOOL STAFF

NEW MOVES - CONTEMPORARY NEW WORKS - KC BALLET - BOLENDER About the Show. following a year of very successful broadcast presentations, New Moves, our showcase for emerging choreographers will return to the Bolender Center’s Michael and Ginger Frost Studio Theater. New Moves, one of Kansas City Ballet’s most popular productions each season, showcases contemporary ballet in an intimatesetting.
