HOW TO COPY A SERIAL EEPROM CHIP The programmer software can be used to read the device, save it to a file and program new EEPROMs. USB in system serial EEPROM programmer kit. You will need to connect the programmer leads to the correct pin on the IC clip and some more knowledge is needed to do this. First find the device datasheet to get the pin diagram of the device. PIC MICROCONTROLLER HEX FILE FORMAT A Microchip format Hex file is an extended Intel Hex file with code, data, configuration bytes and user ID included. You need to select output file type as INHX32. This is 32-bit addressing as Configuration bytes are stored above 64KB, which is the limit for 8-bit Intel Hex format, INHX8. All PIC programmers should be able to cope with this WHERE TO FIND ARDUINO OUTPUT BINARIES AND HEX FILES If you can’t find this path in Explorer, try Organise -> Folder and Search Options -> View Tab and select Show hidden files, folders and drives. Once you have found preferences.txt file, close your Arduino IDE and open this file in a text editor like Notepad. Add a build path anywhere in the file.
