RECIPES - JUST A LITTLE BIT OF BACON Welcome to my kitchen! I’m a Italian-American girl who loves fresh foods, local ingredients, and all sorts of comfort foods. Here you will find Mediterranean RICH & COMPLEX TRADITIONAL BOLOGNESE SAUCE Instructions. Heat the butter in a large pot over medium-low heat. Add the salt, onion, and carrots. Saute for 5 minutes, or until just starting to get soft and golden. Add the garlic; saute for 30 seconds. Add the meat and oregano. ITALIAN SAUSAGE AND ZUCCHINI CASSEROLE Transfer the zucchini to the baking dish. Add the sauce to the hot skillet and bring to a simmer. Pour sauce into the baking dish. Add the sliced sausage, oregano, and thyme. Mix well to combine. Cover and bake the casserole for 25 minutes. Sprinkle the parmesan over the top and stir in. Bake for 5 minutes more. TENDER AND JUICY GRILLED BREADED CHICKEN BREAST Once all the chicken has been breaded, make the tomato salad. Put the tomatoes and scallions in a medium bowl. Sear the pieces until golden brown on both sides and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side. Transfer the pork to a plate and cover lightly with foil. LIDIA'S ITALIAN PIGNOLI COOKIES Form the dough into balls, roll in pine nuts, and bake the cookies until lightly browned. Break up the almond paste in a food processor. Add the sugar and pulse to combine. Add the egg whites and orange zest. Process to make a smooth dough. Roll the dough into balls and press into the pine nuts.
