In Malawi, JRS educates more than 5,000 children in the pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools of Dzaleka. JRS works with Jesuit Worldwide Learning in Dzaleka to bring a variety of educational initiatives to displaced persons. To respond to the multiple needs of refugees and their host communities, JRS started implementing activities in 2016 in the Mtendeli refugee camp, which currently hosts more than 26,400 people. Since January 2020, JRS is also present in Nvarugusu and Nduta refugee camps. JRS distributes school stationery and offers JRS SYRIA | SERVING SINCE 2008 JRS Syria was founded in 2008 in response to the growing number of Iraqi refugees.
