JOHN CLARIDGE BOATS
S/H Boats & Trailers. Chandlery. Boat Storage SCOW - JOHN CLARIDGE BOATS Scow Nationals 2019 Video. The first Scows were built in early 1900's and quickly proved successful as both a sailing and rowing dinghy. It was so ideally suited as a tender to larger yachts that many builders along the East and South Coast built Scows. It was also one of the first dinghies to change successfully from clinker to construction in S/H BOATS & TRAILERS Jester is a rare classic 1970’s Seafire racing dingy. She was found rotting in a field in October 2018 and completely rebuilt in 2018/19. Dimensions Length 14 feet Beam 5’8 inches. The fibreglass hull is sound and the decks and topsides have been rebuilt with 6mm marine ply. The hull and cockpit have been painted with multiple coats ofTROLLEYS & TRAILERS
SCOW LAUNCHING TROLLEY MKII - - - For over 30 years Our stainless steel launching trolley has been a must buy for nearly all Scow owners. We have now developed a modified trolley specifically for the Lymington River Scow which gives the boat more support, is better balanced and gets over the problem of the wheel rubbing on the hull if not positioned correctly. Built in ‘tortured’ ply construction, their ultra-light ply development construction generated the maximum double-curvature possible in the underwater sections. In the 1950/60's Eric was at the forefront of lightweight dinghy design and construction also pioneering the early metal masts and combi-trailors. Drainer Mod to the Lightning 368 To help sailors in rough seas when the self draining spout fails to clear the water quickly enough, the class technical committee have approved a simple modification which can be fitted to any lightning to create a self-bailer effect.POD FITTING GUIDE

It was set up with a single Gunter rigged main positioned well forward in the boat. This was later changed to the then very modern Bermudan rig with a small jib wassometimes used.

John started sailing British Moths at the Salterns Sailing Club in Lymington, when he was 5 years old with help from Major Hibbert who did a lot for youngsters in the neighbourhood.
