GREAT REASONS TO FINALLY START YOUR BLOG OR WEBSITE KNOW WHY YOU WANT TO BLOG When you want to START YOUR BLOG, or embark on any new endeavor, they say you have to understand your WHY. * Why are you doing it?

* What is the goal?

* What will you need to keep in mind when the going gets rough? These are questions that we all must grapple with regardless of our latest pursuits or interest. Being a Blogger myself for over 12 years I can say there are MANY BENEFITs both direct and indirect. I also have no problem saying that it isn’t for everyone. It’s work. And a constant learning process. And it may prompt you to ask questions of yourself that you don’t really want to know the answer. But. If you are like me- you need it for your own personal evolution in some way. Whether it be mentally, financially or professionally- you sense you need it. So, here are at least a dozen reasons WHY you may want to begin writing on your own blog or website. WRITE YOUR MEMOIRS OR AUTOBIOGRAPHY Wouldn’t it be neat if some journalism students decided to tell the story of your life? They would ask you all the best questions so you could reflect on the meaning of it all. Well, most of us will not be asked by someone else to tell our story. But the good news is that we can tell our own- for free! Tell your own story when you start your own blog. That way you know it will be remembered correctly. Bonus – This is especially useful if someone else is telling your story online and not in a good way. JOURNAL FOR CATHARSIS AND SELF-AWARENESS There are numerous studies confirming the benefits of journaling on

Even if you just start writing about the fact that you don’t know what to write about – eventually something will emerge if you stay consistent. The self awareness is worth the process- trust me. OVERCOME DEPRESSION, REDUCE ANXIETY & STRESS There are an alarming amount of studies showing the positive effects of journaling on depression, anxiety and stress. I’m bummed out that more doctors don’t implement it as depression therapy. Well- it is a free way to help yourself heal and there’s much less money in healed people. Once upon a time ago, i was diagnosed as manic-depressive and bi-polar. Maybe. I still struggle with my emotions at times. But they were wrong about the pills. I didn’t need them the rest of my life. I just needed to change to way I was

looking at things.

There is much to be learned when we don’t honor our commitments to our self. In my own life, I have felt much frustration over my lack of focus and consistency in my blog writing. Am I sabotaging with my free spirited nature or and I right where I need to be? Because I know that life is a journey and not a destination – I give myself grace in my weaker

areas.

BECOME A BETTER COMMUNICATOR One of my personal favorite things about writing is that you can re read it before you publish. As you continue to write your blog whether it is about your own personal life or if you are promoting products or services- you will naturally get better over time with practice. It has been said that to be a communicator is one of the most valuable things that you could be as a human. I agree. STAY RELEVANT WITH TECHNOLOGY Along with being a better communicator, you will find that after you start your blog that you learn more about current technology as you progress. As the world becomes increasingly dependent on online ecommerce you will only benefit yourself and/or your business if you have some technical savvy and awareness. MAKE A LITTLE (OR A LOT) CASH Is there something that you are always promoting because you really believe in it and it works? Find out if that product or service has an affiliate program and if not send a direct message to the supplier to see if you could work out a deal. For instance, I have recommended this CBD oil many times and I finally got smart by getting an affiliate link. Now when I tell someone and they buy it I am rewarded for my efforts with a small commission. One commission isn’t going to make a difference but hundreds and thousands of commissions starts to look like financial freedom. And it all began when you decided to

start your blog.

TRAVEL OR GET “FREE” ITEMS This is one of the perks I’ve experienced the most in the past, and I’m kinda over it. This is a fun hustle, but at point in my life it doesn’t usually seem worth it. The amount of value that I supply by promoting a person, place or thing is rarely worth what I get for it in trade. However, it is a fun way to practice your writing, get in the game and see new places. This is perfect if making money is not

your main priority.

TALK ABOUT YOUR PASSION Do you love knitting or some rare hobby that seems to make people’s eyes glaze over when you talk about it? There is a market for that online and there are plenty of people that would love to hear you talk about your love for said weird product. Whether you want to talk about something important to your life or to share memes that make you laugh, talking about your passion is a sure fire way to find a slice of contentment in this world always trying to tell you what you should like and care about.

FIND YOUR TRIBE

Most artists including writers, all throughout history, have felt ostracized at times. It is a certain kind of person who wants to be truly seen. By continuing to write consistently about your passion you will naturally gather around you those that care about the same things. Perhaps these people don’t go to your school or work at your company but you can create your tribe online. Now you know that you

are not alone.

START A HUGE PROJECT You can take baby steps in writing your next book or creating your next informational download product when you start your blog. 15 FAVORITE APPS THAT MAKE MY LIFE BETTER When I recommended the _“FAVORITE APPS”_ to a woman in the gym locker room today I knew to this post was way overdue. Our phones are perhaps the ONE THING we _always _have with us. So, it makes sense that we would use try to optimize that fact as much as possible. For me, this looks like a variety of apps that I feel make my life better in some way. Understand that it feels like I have hundreds of apps on my phone, but _these _jumped out because I have an authentic appreciation for them in some _unique _way. My _favorite apps_, if you will. To me, this one one level deeper than a much longer posts of USEFUL APPS. So, without further ado…

15 FAVORITE APPS

1. TODOIST – ORGANIZE APP TODOIST is at the TOP of my FAVORITE APPS list. Not sure if everyone is like this- but I am a LIST MAKER. I get it from my mother. I also happen to be a list loser. Meaning, I actually write lists and then lose them, or forget to take them, or they get lost in a binder full

of other a lists.

GET IT OUT OF YOUR HEAD. In any case, TODOIST holds _all of my checklists_ in a phone that I _always _have. It even lets me share list with other people like my mom. For instance, when I got visit, I can create a new folder for us to share tasks related to my trip. Things to bring, things to buy, places to eat, airline information… it’s cool to have it all in one place. And that place _not _be my brain. Amen? I can set up recurring items to appear on my checklists and I still get the satisfaction of the swipe. I even have things like “make your bed” show up daily and I so I always get something scratched off my list that day. Anyway, I love this organization app. It truly is helping me feel that I have a little bit of a better handle on my

life.

2. EVERNOTE – NOTES APP Legit favorite app #2. Organizational apps like these help me in a real way. Though I didn’t mean to make this whole post about my mom (she’s #1!) but these first two apps, I recommend to the point of recommending them to my mother. No higher award than that. EVERNOTE is different than TODOIST because it is more like a notebook than a checklist. Dig it? FUNNY THOUGHTS. GIFT IDEAS. AND VOICE MEMOS. You see, Evernote is more like a _VIRTUAL SCRAPBOOK OF IDEAS_, photos, in-the-moment voice memos and more. You can manually link TODOIST and EVERNOTE together, because they compliment each other. They definitely do not serve the same function. Though that would be nice. ARE YOU STILL USING PAPER?! For me, this is also a way to go paperless (or at least much less paper) and much more efficiency. I can draft a blog post in here. Put recipes in here. Copy and paste hashtags that I like to use on Instagram frequently in here. The possibilities are endless and with this app. Plus, I can organize my many ideas and thoughts with tags, folders and priority. After a while of this- we may _actually _get

organized!

Once my mom (wow, really?) got me hooked at a young age, she couldn’t get me to stop. No like I _literally _got in trouble for reading and not sleeping. Oh take me back to that simpler time… AIN’T NO SHAME IN MY BOOKWORM GAME. So, I would _absolutely love_ to read many more books than I currently do but, other things in my life have taken priority. The good news is that the AUDIBLE APP gets me so much more solid information than I

would otherwise.

LISTEN WHILE YOU WALK. My favorite thing about this AUDIOBOOK APP is that it is an efficient use of my time. I am listening to _The Art of the Deal _ currently on my daily walk with the dog in the morning. Then, when I go to the gym, I go through my daily 30-minute _Pimsler Spanish lessons _. I’m on level 3, so the struggle is real. I believe that AUDIBLE deserves to be on my _FAVORITE APPS_ list because it really makes my life better. Every day, I have the opportunity to fill my head with the world’s best and most creative minds. I collect new and exciting information, thoughts and ideas from brilliant people. This is good food for my brain. ROAD TRIPS – STOP BEING BORED; START LEARNING. By the way- AUDIBLE is amazing for long road trips. If you want a book to really blow your mind, try listening to _Mere Christianity_ by CS Lewis on a long road trip. It is so thought-provoking and not just saying that because I’m a Christian. 4. BIBLE – FAITH APP This YOUVERSION BIBLE APP is truly life changing. Well, the _GOOD NEWS_ of The Bible is the life changing part! Amen?! I love that at the touch of my fingertips I can follow along in church sermons, get daily devotionals delivered, make verse graphics and go through a number of free online studies- like the one I went through recently THE BATTLEFIELD OF THE MIND.

TALK TO ME, JESUS.

One of my favorite aspects of this app is having the option to flip between the different versions of The Bible in an instant. Different versions gives me different perspectives and I think God can use that

to connect with us.

5. SPOTIFY – MUSIC APP When I’m not listening to AUDIBLE, I’m probably listening to SPOTIFY. As I write this post I have Beethoven’s Classics playing in

the background.

Sure, SPOTIFY has the hottest songs by the _coolest _artists but I am already finding that I am either getting too old or too conservative to enjoy those playlists. The lyrics are jaw-dropping. If you can even understand what they are saying. THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO SPOTIFY. I digress. What I am loving about this music app is all the options as far as musical moods go. Some of my favorite playlists are moods like Concentration, Workout, Nature Sounds, Jazz- you get the idea. Obviously you can also create your own custom playlists which means a well prepared person could be both the hostess _and _the DJ of her own house party- should she so choose. Sign up with your family and save. Get Spotify here. 6. FACEBOOK MESSENGER – VIDEO CHAT APP One of the reasons I’m all about Facebook Messenger is because it runs on Wi-Fi. As I am currently living in Mexico, my cellular service is… unreliable. I won’t be able to get my family and friends to use WHATSAPP just to chat with me so FACEBOOK MESSENGER it is. EVEN GRANDMA HAS FACEBOOK. Second, most people have a Facebook account. So they are ready to have phone calls and video chats. That gets it on the FAVORITE APPS list. It’s SO nice to see a friendly face when you are out traveling alone. If I must walk someone through the setup process, it’s usually a success. I use the voice option to send people voice messages so often that I can’t believe anyone would send long text messages anymore. Oh, maybe except to choose their words carefully-

BETTER SERVICE?

What I also think is groovy about FACEBOOK MESSENGER is that I have been able to interact with brands directly through their Facebook page. I have made reservations, affirmed that a restaurant is dog-friendly and felt comforted knowing that someone was going to be looking out for an foreigner, like me. I think I even get better service this way- though I can’t prove it. 7. AIRBNB – LODGING APP Though I don’t use AIRBNB every day, it has saved me many times. And so I include it on my FAVORITE APPS list. The concept behind Airbnb is that the app that facilitates between owners with living space available and travelers looking for a living space in that location. Options range from bunk beds in a shared room to 16 room mansions.

HIRE A LOCAL.

The site has said since expanded to include activities, tours and experiences in your chosen area. For the most part, I find that I get more bang for my buck at an Airbnb locations than at a comparable hotel. Many of the rooms include refrigerators or small kitchens which helps to cut down on dining out expenses. New to Airbnb ? Get up to $51 toward your first trip. I just really think this app is so awesome especially considering its price. Free. I do find myself resisting the daily use of it, but I think that is just because Spanish is hard.

FREE FAVORITE APPS.

I really am overwhelmed at how much they offer regarding a variety of languages for absolutely nothing! You have the option to upgrade and not see ads but so far I have stayed at the free version. A friend recently told me that her daughter wanted English lessons and I suggested she work on her daily discipline first with this app. THE DISCIPLINE IS EVERYTHING. I don’t know if someone could fully learn Spanish this way but I am finding it is a nice compliment to the other tactics I am employing to learn the Spanish language. GET THE DUOLINGO APP HERE. 9. SNAPSEED – PHOTO APP One of the questions I get asked quite often is what camera I’m shooting my photos with and/or what app I’m using to edit my photos. LIGHTING. AND FILTERS. AND EDITS. OH MY. I’m mainly including Snapseed in my favorite apps list because people ask me so often. Also Google has resources online

but I think

you’ll just have to play with the adjustments to get the hang of it and develop your own style. GET THE GOOGLE SNAPSEED APP HERE. 10. TRIPADVISOR – TRAVEL APP I use TRIPADVISOR all the time here in the Yucatan Peninsula because it is the most used form of customer reviews that I have found so far. Of course, when I _really _want to research a place, I cross check it with other sites like Google and Facebook. In my experience, for foreigners in Mexico – TripAdvisor

is the best app for

trying to discover what to do and where to go in a new town. FOLLOW ME ON TRIPADVISOR HERE. 11. SPROUT SOCIAL – SCHEDULING APP Not everyone will need a scheduling app for your social networks, but if you do- this is a great one. SOCIAL MARKETING IS NOW. If you are a business owner, entrepreneur, artist, promoter or for whatever reason you have an online presence – you should consider getting some sort of scheduling app like SPROUTSOCIAL. This social scheduling app also creates reports with insights on your followers, fans and audience. By scheduling your posts, you can work in batches and manage your time more efficiently this way. Get the SPROUT SOCIAL APP HERE . 12. TABATA – WORKOUT APP Perhaps a bit random for my favorite apps list… or not. The TABATA TIMER: INTERVAL TIMER WORKOUT TIMER HIIT app is a simple interval timer meaning you can easily create interval cycles. GO HARD FOR 50 SECONDS, REST FOR 10 SECONDS. REPEAT. The workout favorite app has many other functions but I have only used the timer aspect to assist in high intensity training. There is something really freeing to me about having the timer tell me when to stop and meanwhile, I go all out on something. Like a shark is chasing

me.

With the Tabata timer I like to create super sets of exercises and then give myself 10 second breaks between the exercises. If you want a super quick but efficient workout give HIIT a go. 13. POMODONE – TIME MANAGEMENT APP All my life people have told me that I have a problem focusing. Of course, no one could tell me how to fix that, but that’s another

post.

MEANWHILE, I WORK IN BLOCKS. What I love about the PomoDone app is that it’s based on the Pomodoro technique which is a time management philosophy. This essentially says we work more efficiently in short bursts of time with

mandatory breaks.

WORK HARD. PLAY HARD. If I know that I need to do something and I need to knock it out, I set up my PomoDone app. Procrastination and self sabotage, like to get me when it comes to time management and this app keeps me on target. I can also use this app to integrate with another like Todoist for a streamlined workflow. Something about the clicking of the timer seems meditative and helps to keep me focused. Like the TABATA EXERCISE APP above- knowing that the time is predetermined, somehow helps me to be more efficient and objective with the project at hand. GET THE POMODONE APP HERE. 14. TIKTOK – VIDEO APP After all this organization and discipline talk- it’s time for some giggles and laughs. I know that this ticktock app is not for everybody but it is definitely one of my FAVORITE APPS. The app allows its users to mix, create, collaborate and interact with other users through a variety of artistic forms, filters and songs. YOUR INNER CHILD WANTS YOU TO DANCE. Even if you don’t post these videos online for everyone to see, you can still save them to share privately. Any time I’ve made a video with someone else, we had an absolute blast being silly. > Don’t take yourself too seriously. > -lots of people For me, it’s important to be creative and expressive and sometimes super silly. MICROBLADING EYEBROWS BEFORE AND AFTER WHAT IS MICROBLADING EYEBROWS? If you have been considering MICROBLADING your EYEBROWS after seeing many flawless brows on Instagram – you are not alone. After continually seeing these Latina _eyebrows on fleek,_ I decided to take the plunge and get my first tattoo. Or permanent eyebrow tattoo rather. WHY GET LONG-LASTIN EYEBROW MAKEUP? Eyebrows are _so in_ right now and it seems like the fuller the better. Only problem is that some of us have some sparse brows and coloring them in everyday is not only an irritating task but it leaves a lot of room for error. At least when I do it. You gotta try to imagine what the ideal shape of your eyebrow should be, and then fill that area in. Well, if you haven’t tried this…

Pen or powder? Brush or stick? Thick or thin? And I’m like- I’m just trying to go to the grocery store and this seems like a lot of

work.

And then it smears.

THE POWER OF GOOD EYEBROWS So I’m on insta , and I see this beautiful lady with great eyebrows and I investigate her profile. Turns out, she creates these Instagram brows. But I was still scared, so I waited. After a few months of seeing consistent MICROBLADING BEFORE AND AFTER , I decided it was time. HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING YOUR EYEBROWS LAST? Everyone says that these eyebrow tattoos will last anywhere from 1 to 3 years depending on skin type and skin care. For this reason microblading is often called permanent makeup, or semi-permanent. (Though I find the second word irritating as the 2 words negate the

other.)

IS MICROBLADING LIKE A REGULAR TATTOO? Even though I continue to joke that I finally got a tattoo there are slight differences between microblading eyebrow makeup and tattooing. First, the microblade doesn’t go anywhere near as deep as a tattoo. Also, tattoos use ink while microblading uses pigment designed to

fade.

And speaking of fading, if for some reason you decided that you wanted your fake eyebrows removed, they can be lightened significantly easier than a tattoo with laser treatments. WHAT WILL MY EYEBROW SHAPE BE? I loved that it looks like physics getting the right shape for my brow. The lines created should follow basic eyebrow shaping rules. WHAT DO EYEBROW TATTOOS COST? One of the first things that people always want to know is how much does microblading cost. Well, that definitely depends on where you are located your city and even more importantly the country that you are

located.

Here in the YUCATAN , Mexico my microblading eyebrows cost 2500 pesos which was a promotion from the 3000 PESOS price. This is approximately $150USD based on 20-1 value. After doing some online research however it looks that prices in the States start closer to $300 MAY GO UP AS HIGH AS $800. Depending on your personal income this may be a good investment especially when you consider how long the treatment lasts (1-3 years). IS MICROBLADING YOUR EYEBROWS PAINFUL? Of course this is relative. I have never had a tattoo so I cannot compare it to that, but I did get a belly ring in college (dumb) and this was _nothing _compared that pain. There was relatively little pain and I would almost say there was none. More irritating than anything. Renata applied a numbing cream on my eyebrows and let it sit for 20 minutes, so that probably helped also. DOES IT LEAVE SCARS? You can Google horror stories. About anything, right? So, once again this depends on who you ask. I have a close friend that does not recommend microblading because she said it left her with small scars. But then I asked another close friend about her microblading and she said she has no scars at all. And plans to get a touch up soon. So as you can see, there are two opinions so it definitely pays to do your due diligence in finding the right person. As I mentioned before I saw the company I chose for months before I finally reached out. I will update this blog in a month and perhaps again in a year to let you know of my own personal experience. However, my online research says that if done correctly, MICROBLADING EYEBROWS SHOULD NOT LEAVE A

SCAR.

DOES MICROBLADING ENCOURAGE HAIR GROWTH? Nope. Because microblading is essentially just making little cuts into your skin and putting pigment in it, microblading eyebrows should have no effect on hair growth. POST CARE FOR BROWS ON FLEEK Microblading Eyebrows:

THAT TIME WE HAD A STAYCATION IN MERIDA BECAUSE I MISSED MY FLIGHT I CAN’T BELIEVE I MISSED MY FLIGHT.

I mean… I can.

Because I have a history of losing things. This time, I lost my passport. And by lost, I mean misplaced. Found the next day on under the scanner lid. But not recovered in time to use the non-refundable ticket to Cuba. Ok, change of plans. And don’t cry. Cuba’s not going anywhere. STAYCATION MERIDA, YUCATAN. So I rented a car and decided to make the best of things. On Friday, I ran errands #adulting during the day and took Austin out for dinner that night at AMORE E GUSTO , which I highly recommend. WE LOVE DOG FRIENDLY BEACH RESTAURANTS. On Saturday, we went to Progreso. We valet parked at CRABSTER and spent the day at one of their tables on the beach. Austin is getting better. Though there is still _plenty_ of room for

improvement.

In us all, I suppose. EVERYONE BLOWS LEAVING PROGRESO Luckily, I decided to be super responsible at Crabster by stopping after one delicious piña colada because to my surprise, I was required to blow in a breathalizer when I tried to leave the beach

town. Whaa?

So. Definitely have a designated driver when visiting because…

And then I took Austin to Paseo Montejo for a bike ride, but we couldn’t find a basket big enough for his booty. So we followed the jazz music to ROSAS Y XOCOLATE patio where I had brunch and Austin watched all the activity on the street. Good boy. Take it easy. Renting the car was a really good idea. I don’t really enjoy driving but now I know I need to buy one if I expect to keep my sanity. Some cities like Chicago in the United States or Guadalajara in Mexico- I got along quite well without a car. But you really need

one in Merida.

Without a car, you pay for it when Uber adds up quickly. Or you pay for it with your time walking in the hot sun- or taking a pretty outdated public transportation system. So, after some holiday travels, I’ll start looking. After all, if I am going to be the best YUCATAN INSIDER I can be- I gotta cover a lot more ground. Do you like driving? In a foreign country? ‘I’M SORRY’ ARE TWO VERY POWERFUL WORDS #LEWINSKY #CLINTON My mother used to say growing up > “I’M SORRY” ARE TWO VERY POWERFUL WORDS. The years have proven to me just how true and how rare this really is as I became a woman in search of _my people_. The people that believe the same things that I believe. The people that care about things that matter. The people that lift me up more than drain me. I’m so far from perfect. And I don’t even say that in a super humble way, if that makes any sense. I see a pridefulness in me that refuses to change because I feel that people need to know I can be an asshole too. If you want me to flex- let’s go. I keep trying to be this sweeter quieter Christian lady that I admire for her calm, but hot-dogget it’s just not how I’m built. I have a quick wit, a piercing tongue and my facial expressions alone can someone DOWN. Ugh. But I don’t want to be. I don’t like that side of me. Or do I? Because honestly, it kind of works for me. The pain does not outweigh the benefit of having someone think I won’t fight back. I’ve got a fire that _rarely_ lets you walk away smugly without hearing what I have to say about it. I think it was comedian Dane Cook that said women are mental terrorists and I for one, am_ at least_ a ninja level. At times, this honestly embarasses me. I tend to fire up quickly only to wake the next day tired from a sleepless night of restless guilt. It’s that sinking feeling that was wrong- when I know I was wrong. And all the energy that it is taking me to feed my fire into believing I was right, is draining me. And it’s bad mojo.

I MUST APOLOGIZE.

There is something so curious about apologizing to someone- especially someone that you don’t necessarily like. The desire to tell the person all the ways that they are wrong is strong. Or shall I change the subject just slightly enough to distract from my wrongdoing? Maybe bring up some old stuff? So when I can overcome my feelings to apologize anyway, I feel the

inner steel.

I ALSO FEEL THE TINGLES OF _NEVER _WANTING TO APOLOGIZE TO THAT PERSON FOR THAT THING AGAIN. THE HUMILITY TEACHES ME A LESSON. Far from being be expert on the Monica Lewinsky – Bill Clinton story, her quote in this article, inspired me. I can only imagine what she had to overcome to get here. > As for ever getting an apology from the ex-president himself, she > says, “What feels more important to me than whether I am owed or > deserving of a personal apology is my belief that Bill Clinton > should want to apologize. I’m less disappointed by him, and more > disappointed for him. He would be a better man for it … and we, in > turn, a better society.” – USA Today

YOU KNOW WHAT, MONICA? #METOO I couldn’t agree with her more. When I thought about Monica’s mature words, I remembered the words of my mother… I’M SORRY ARE TWO VERY POWERFUL WORDS. And I imagined Clinton going on TV as he did when he enunciated the famous words I did not have sexual relations with that woman… but instead to look the camera dead in the eye and apologize. But I see that even now he will not. And I can’t control that. That is _his_ legacy. And in my opinion, Ms. Lewinsky has risen above in character, integrity and

strength.

There are many things about me and what I believe, that upset others. But I am not sorry for these things- and will not apologize. But there are other things that I am sorry for and that I must apologize for if I want the world to be a better place. Adding more authenticity and truth and honesty to the world has to start with me. MY EGO MUST DIE JUST A LITTLE FOR THE GREATER GOOD. I’ve come to realize that one of the reasons that I’m single (and there are many) is because I want a man who is super self-aware, brave and authentic. I definitely do not expect him to be perfect because that is not love, nor is it what I offer in return. I do expect him to be able to communicate. I expect him to be able to articulate his motives and to say “I’m sorry” when he’s wrong. It’s ironic how the voice in my head get scared before I am going to apologize especially to someone I don’t really trust or like. A voice tells me that the other person will somehow win and we mustn’t show weakness. BUT IN REALITY, I AM THE ONE THAT WINS WHEN I APOLOGIZE. Because if they accept my apology, as they usually do, then we are better friends for it. If they do not accept my apology, then I get to be a little self righteous in thinking that I do not want to be friends with someone who is so obtuse as to think that they themselves do not make some similar mistake. Actually the death of my former Bible Study teacher, John, was a huge part of what spurred me on to finally start some international travel. LIFE IS SO SO SHORT. And even the best of people are not promised old age. Some go HOME in their prime. There is no time to waste. Being a problem-solver, I have decided to start an online Bible Study and you are invited to watch and especially, participate. want to order online and get them delivered. LIMES ARE NATURAL DEODORANT. I use them daily now and I feel good about it. I’m still able to sweat… like a body _should_. But I’m not stinky. At all. At all, at all. Really. It is acidity that gives lime its ability to combat armpit sweat. Limes are a natural deodorant with strong antibacterial properties. HOTEL HIGHLIGHT: CAHAL PECH RESORT

ST. IGNACIO, BELIZE

Visiting CAHAL PECH RESORT puts me back at St. Ignacio where I began this whole wild jungle ocean Belizean journey . I found the resort to be beautifully situated on top of the city with beautiful views from multiple angles. One thing remains- I never regret watching a sunrise or sunset. Here is my timelapse. It was an interesting because after a long, hot day I did NOT feel like leaving my air conditioned room to watch this sun set. ? But I also didn’t want to miss the time lapse video over the mountains. So I bossed myself into getting up and out. ?

JUST DO IT

As I watched the sunset I was overcome with the feeling of wanting to take a photo of me at work in action but the tripod was already in use for the time lapse. So I ran downstairs and grabbed the first employee I found. “Will you please come upstairs with me to take a photo of me?” I asked Julio with a smile. ? Not only was he able to follow directions (you’d be surprised), he even lifted me off the ledge when I struggled to get back down. ???‍ So the thing that I didn’t want to do, turned out to be the highlight of my day (pun intended). So if you have a friend, or an inner personality that is always challenging you to put more effort into having fantastic experiences… listen. CHANGE YOUR MIND

If you can change you mind, you can change everything. As I travel, things do not always go the way I would have planned. But I have gotten so good at saying “Great!” no matter what happens. I trust that God has my back and I can roll with just about anything. If plans change- it’s just what I need to evolve and learn, so I lean into it. I think sometimes we let dumb stuff steal our joy because we subconsciously think that by being upset, somehow the situation or the other person may change. Nope. Travel teaches me I don’t have time to try to change people. And it is a waste of my precious little time to get the blues. So I dust myself off, and I get some rhythm. ??
