I'm not exactly sure of what I'm going to do with this, but I'll probably post some pictures and perhaps some thoughts. JAN ALLBECK: A VISIT HOME From the top of the grain bin, I saw a deer walking along the pond path. I decided to see if I could find her. I found her and a few ofher friends

JAN ALLBECK: EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND I had a wonderful trip to Edinburgh, Scotland in November for MIG 2011. These are a few of the pictures from the trip. I walked around a bit the afternoon that I arrived. JAN ALLBECK: HOME FOR THE WEEKEND I went home to the farm for the weekend. I spent one afternoon sitting on the patio with my laptop and camera. I did some programming and took some pictures while waiting for the code to compile. JAN ALLBECK: EARLY SUMMER AT HOME A small pause in the pictures from France. Back home near North Mountain and Jamison City, there is a restaurant called the Brass Pelican. When I was a kid we were discussing where we were going to eat and I mistakenly called it the Golden Goose. The old oak tree has become a new ash tree... The spring leaves aren't as far along as they are in Virginia... Posted by Jan M. Allbeckat 2:48 PM

TOAD CATCHIN'
My brother's pond was full of toads last weekend... Some of them were giving each other piggy back rides. ;-) Bear having a staring contest with a toad. The toad won... There were a few newts at the party too... This toad was enjoying his swim... Isaac was a toad-catchin-machine. At one point he was holding 3 toads that he had caught and was going after a fourth... Grant got into the toad wrangling too... If I float out here, maybe they wouldn't be able to grab me... If I linger in slime, maybe they won't want to grab me...Uh. yeah...
Kev pointed out there was a toad hiding under a leaf. I thought he was referring to the one on the left, but he was talking about the one onthe right...
Isaac was interested in a dead, dried up newt... Here you can see the power behind Isaac's toad catchin' skills. He was wearing frog boots!. He wasn't ready to go back in the house... Amazingly, no toads were harmed during this event and no humans fell into the pond. I think one dog was slightly embarrassed about having a toad on his head. And he did "fall" into the pond at one point. Posted by Jan M. Allbeckat 1:34 PM
