If you are cisgender, listed below are benefits that result from your alignment of identity and perceived identity. It’s been around in some form for many years, and this is my whack at making an inclusive, adorable, easy to understand depiction. 30+ EXAMPLES OF HETEROSEXUAL (STRAIGHT) PRIVILEGES Following is a list of examples of heterosexual privilege. If you are straight, these are unearned benefits you receive as a result of the sexuality you were born with. If you are straight (or in some cases, perceived to be), you can live without ever having to think twice, face, confront, engage, or cope with anything listed below. Taking the initiative to use an inclusive word like partner is tantamount to pinning a button to my chest that says “I care.”. This goes for everyone, straight, bi-, gay, lesbian, or otherwise.
