17.1.2 LOW-EARTH-ORBITING SATELLITES Polar orbiting satellite systems, such as Iridium and the proposed Teledesic system, can be modelled in ns.In particular, the simulator supports the specification of satellites that orbit in purely circular planes, for which the neighboring planes are co-rotating. YUBIKEY AND SSH AUTHENTICATION The right environment variables will be set for that particular shell, and you should be able to successfully SSH into your server. Once this is working, we need to make sure gpg-agent runs at startup by creating a new .plist and placing it in the LaunchAgent directory. This guide covers creating the .plist.. 2015-09-29 Thanks to Tyler B. for the feedback and troubleshooting. 1. Background. Fast retransmit is a modification to the congestion avoidance algorithm. As in Jacobson's fast retransmit algorithm, when the sender receives 3rd duplicate ACK, it assumes that the packet is lost and retransmit that packet without waiting for a retransmission timer to expire. After retransmission, the sender continues normaldata transmission.

USC ISI RESEARCHERS HONORED FOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO NETWORKING SIMULATORAugust 14, 2020
By Lila Jones
_2020 Networking Systems Award from SIGCOMM goes to networking system developed in part by USC ISI team._ The research contributions of John Heidemann, a USC
Viterbi research professor of computer science and a principal scientist at the USC Information Sciences Institute (ISI) , and Yuri Pradkin, a systems programmer at ISI, were recently recognized in the 2020 Networking Systems Awardfrom SIGCOMM .
The award - from the Association for Computing Machinery's Special
Interest Group
on Data
Communications, or SIGCOMM - serves to recognize the development of a networking system that has had a significant impact on the world of computer networking, and this year, it was given to a series of networking simulators referred to as "ns." "It was a very happy surprise for me to hear about this award," said Heidemann, who led ns development from 2000 to 2004. "I'm honored that we at USC were able to play a part." The ns family of simulators - which include ns-1, ns-2, and ns-3 - allow researchers to test out ideas in a simulated computer network before laboratory or testbed experiments. Heidemann and Pradkin were credited as major contributors, along with a number of USC Ph.D. students, to the development of ns-2, which built off of the earlierns-1.
