Protestant kids from rural Kansas, discovered a Polish Catholic woman who saved Jewish children. Irena Sendler and these students chose to repair the world. This web site shares the legacy and life of Irena Sendler, plus her 'discovery' for the world.FACTS ABOUT IRENA
Facts about Irena which are not generally known. All of these are from primary sources. Irena Sendler was born as Irena Krzyżanowska on 15 February 1910 in Warsaw to Dr. Stanisław Krzyżanowski, a physician, and his wife, Janina. THE IRENA SENDLER FAMILY & CAST This was taken in 2007. Irena Sendler, born in 1910, in Warsaw, Poland, was raised by her parents to respect and love people regardless of their ethnicity or social status. She grew up in the town of Otwock, Poland. Her father, a physician, died from typhus that he contracted during an epidemic in 1917. He was the only doctor inhis town of

Wldayslaw Bartoszewski was a member of Zegota and took part in rescuing Jews. He was interviewed by the Life in a Jar students in 2002. This is one of the hundreds of primary interviews done by the Irena Sendler Project students. He spoke so highly of Irena. 'MOMMY, WHO WAS IRENA SENDLER?' In Mommy, Who Was Irena Sendler?, children will learn how Megan Felt and her high school classmates uncovered the amazing story of Irena Sendler and brought that story to light. As the three high school girls from Kansas began to share the story they called Life VIDEO - LIFE IN A JAR - IRENA SENDLER This video was prepared by students, with an added clip from the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie. OUR DREAM - LIFE IN A JAR - LIFE IN A JAR - THE COURAGEOUS OUR DREAM. A CONTINUATION OF OUR LIFE IN A JAR FOUNDATION TO HELP TEACHERS AND STUDENTS DEVELOP THOUSANDS OF MULTICULTURAL PROJECTS AROUND THE WORLD. Irena
Sendlerowa was a Polish woman who, along with her underground network, rescued 2,500 Jewish children in Poland during World War II. Many of this number were already outside of the Ghetto and in hiding.IRENA'S PARENTS
