INDIAN OPTOMETERY ASSOCIATION-IOAINDIA The Indian Optometric Association is the leading authority on quality care and an advocate for our nation’s health, representing over 10,000 optometric professionals and optometry students. As profession Optometry, which is now recognized as heath care professions in India, takes a leading role in patient care with respect to eye and vision ABOUT US – INDIAN OPTOMETERY ASSOCIATION-IOAINDIA The Indian Optometric Association represents approximately 12,000 doctors of optometry, optometry students and paraoptometric assistants and technicians. Optometrists serve patients in nearly 6,500 communities across the country, and in 3,500 of those communities are the only eye doctors. Applicants should be with minimum science background (PCB / PCM) & no other stream will be eligible for lifetime membership. 2.
