CELEBRATING THE FIRST 50 YEARS. IMAGINING THE NEXT 50. In 1969, we were upstarts with a radical idea. That idea was an electronic network for trading stocks. This concept seems like a given now, but fifty years ago it was the beginning of a revolution—a fundamental shift that redefined how the markets work and how investors interact with each other. The term hadn’t been coined yet, but Instinet was the original“fintech”.
Over the last five decades, we have often had the opportunity to be a positive transformative force in the markets. The innovations we've developed on behalf of our clients have played an integral role in many of the advancements that have shaped how the investment lifecycle works today.
That pioneering spirit still drives us, and inspires innovation that improves our clients’ performance, creates more efficient and accessible markets, and effectively supports the investments that benefit people and enterprises all over the world.1969
