Locate the light pollution map image you want to overlay. This page has light pollution maps covering the whole world (this one is hard to overlay) and for regions (like Australia). I overlaid the Oceania Map which is a small download of 1.2Mb that HEQ5-PRO - ICEINSPACE The same with the stainless steel legs of the mount. What has surprised me is that this mount is a power hungry beast compared to an autostar/ds motor conversion I made a while back with a CG5 mount. The latter mount would run for 3-4 nights on a single charge of a 7A/Hr battery, the HEQ5-Pro mount only lasted one night on a 17 A/Hr battery A SIMPLE POLAR ALIGNMENT JIG FOR A GEM TRIPOD Simply place the tripod next to the jig. ANOTHER DIY PARALLELOGRAM BINOCULAR MOUNT Binocular Alt-Az Unit. This small assembly is a simple, home made Alt-Az mount fabricated from aluminium and wood, fitted to the Swivel Arm (5th degree of motion) that pivots inside the Binocular Support Arms Assembly. It is only fitted and used for smaller binoculars, suchas our 12x50’s.

Pass years they featured a 40AH battery, which I have, and it has proven to be a very good astronomy battery. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A MOUNT FOR CELESTRON EDGEHD 11 OR Quick thoughts A C11 and a C14 are in different leagues A 14 is a long focal length unless you're really into planets IMHO. I have a 2500mm scope and seeing is always the limiting factor, even with a 9 micronCCD.

Mike PMed me the other day and asked if I’d do an article on how to make a Hartmann Mask. This was a good thing as it got me off my backside during the days of my holiday, once I finished my books thatis.
ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY WITH A DOB Astrophotography with a dob is possible!! Dobsonians are usually purchased for their cheap aperture, quick setup and ease of use for beginners. People don't buy dobsonians with a plan to doing astrophotography. In fact, i've read many times that astrophotography with a dob just can't be done and that you shouldn't bother trying. MONO VS ONE SHOT COLOUR (OSC) CCD'S This is the galaxy I imaged for this purpose -- NGC 6207 (please click link above image to see at full size) - a most beautiful object, I think (a bit "under-appreciated" as she is located so close to her "famous and well renowned competitor" M13). The reason why I did this? Monochromatic H16 is much more sensitive and OSC gave me the chance to finish this object in the same night - I saved time! OVERLAY LIGHT POLLUTION MAP IN GOOGLE EARTH If you have downloaded and installed the free Google Earth application, you can overlay a light pollution map straight into it as follows:. Locate the light pollution map image you want to overlay. This page has light pollution maps covering the whole world (this one is hard to overlay) and for regions (like Australia). I overlaid the Oceania Map which is a small download of 1.2Mb that SHARPENING IMAGES USING DECONVOLUTION MAKING YOUR OWN ARTIFICIAL STAR PVA wood glue. 4 X screws. All up, assuming you already have the MDF or shipboard plus adhesive and screws, the total project cost could be as little as $10.00. REPAIRING A FINDERSCOPE CROSSHAIR RETICLE Preparation. Typically, the crosshair reticle consists of a small, threaded plastic or metal reticle ring that screws into the inside end of your finderscope eyepiece. Remove or unscrew your eyepiece and have a look. There are probably a couple of small circular indentations in the top of the ring opposite each other – if you don't have the ANOTHER DIY PARALLELOGRAM BINOCULAR MOUNT Binocular Alt-Az Unit. This small assembly is a simple, home made Alt-Az mount fabricated from aluminium and wood, fitted to the Swivel Arm (5th degree of motion) that pivots inside the Binocular Support Arms Assembly. So it's over to you! During May and June, we had some of IceInSpace's best astrophotographers submit their images. We had an amazing response, with 276 images submitted by 65 different photographers. The quality of images was absolutely stunning - we were blown away by the talent and will be pleased to feature ANY of those images in the 2016calendar!
David (Astrovisuals) and I have now narrowed those images down to 3 in each category across 13 categories, and now it's up to you! You get to select
