Golden’s oldest park was built in the early 1900s. Several brass markers note historic points of interest. This is Golden’s festival park where the community celebrates Buffalo Bill Days every July, as well as other civic events. Lots of large shade trees and the calming attraction of Clear Creek draw many from the adjacent downtown area for a quiet retreat. Amenities Available: Parfet CLEAR CREEK TRAIL & WATER PARK IN GOLDEN PARKING & DIRECTIONS. Golden is nestled along the Rocky Mountain foothills just 15 minutes west of Denver or 20 minutes south of Boulder or north of Littleton. Access Golden via I-70, C-470, 6th Avenue or Hwys 58 or 93. LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN. Lookout Mountain is a foothill of the Rocky Mountains. The 7,377-foot peak is located in Lookout Mountain Park, 1.7 miles (2.7 km) west of downtown Golden. APEX TRAIL - VISIT GOLDEN Apex Trail is in the Jefferson County trail system, and the eastern access is in the City of Golden. Enter from County Road 93/Heritage Road just before its merger with US Highway 40/West Colfax Avenue. The trail is 2.3 miles long gaining up to 1,500 feet in elevation. There are exposed steep trails at time with views of Denver and Golden. GOLDENS IN GOLDEN 2021: VIRTUAL CELEBRATION & SOCIALLY In years past, the city hosted a record-breaking gathering of Goldens on International Golden Retriever Day, February 3 rd. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, there will not be a “Goldens in Golden” gathering in 2021. Instead, Golden owners are encouraged to visit Golden with their Golden throughout February. “Any time of year, Golden is a VISITOR PARKING IN DOWNTOWN GOLDEN PARKING 2+ HOURS. If you plan to stay longer than two hours between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., there are convenient parking garages and parking lots close to downtown indicated in Blue on the map. The first two hours are free, each additional hour is $2 to a maximum of $8/day.
