Welcome to the Museum shop! The shop is stocked with products that all revolve around Vasa, the 1600s, and the Swedish king and queen of that time – Gustav II Adolf and Maria Eleonora. Many of the products are unique to the Vasa Museum and are replicas of objects found on board. You will find a selection of products below. THE PRESERVATION WORK AROUND VASA OVER TIME. 1972-1988. In 1979, the sprays are stopped completely. The ship gradually dries over the following years, as the air humidity is decreased from around 95 to 60%. The surface of the wood is treated with an extra layer of PEG for physical protection. In 1988, the ship is moved to the newly-built Vasa Museum. Conservation is consideredcomplete.

These were stored in water tanks until conserved at the purpose-built conservation laboratory at Beckholmen. Wooden objects. Welcome to the Museum shop! The shop is stocked with products that all revolve around Vasa, the 1600s, and the Swedish king and queen of that time – Gustav II Adolf and Maria Eleonora. Many of the products are unique to the Vasa Museum and are replicas of objects found on board. You will find a selection of products below.VASA'S WOMEN
In the exhibition on the women of Vasa, visitors have the opportunity to learn about important but previously unknown narratives on Vasa. The researchers’ work reveals a partially new and surprising image of the living conditions of women during the early part of the 17 th century.. Meet Margareta Nilsdotter, the head and property manager of the Stockholm shipyard who, after her A STABLE CLIMATE IS A REQUIREMENT FOR PRESERVING VASA. The Vasa Museum has a specially built climate system to maintain a stable climate around the ship. This is to preserve the Vasa for thefuture.
THE PRESERVATION WORK AROUND VASA OVER TIME. 2011. Replacement of the 1960s bolts begins in order to increase the structural stability of the ship. After the ship was raised, mild steel bolts were inserted in the original bolt-holes to hold the ship together, but over time these have corroded and the ship has deformed.VASA-MUSEO
Tervetuloa löytöretkelle Vasan maailmaan! Vasa-laiva kallistui ja upposi ensimmäisellä matkallaan Tukholmassa 1628. Vietettyään 333 vuotta merenpohjassa mahtava sotalaiva nostettiin ja sen matka saattoi jatkua. SÖK I SAMLINGEN
I Vasamuseets samling finns mer än 40000 föremål som hittats i och omkring Vasa. Föremålen och skeppet ger en unik bild av vardagslivet till sjöss och på land, av sjöstrid och skeppsbyggnadsteknik undertidigt 1600-tal.
Vasas historia
Måndagen den 24 april 1961 bröt Vasa vattenytan efter 333 år på havets botten. Då hade arbetet med att bärga skeppet pågått iflera år.
