I recently had the ultimate privilege to meet the legendary Jet Tila, at Melissa’s Produce.The team at Melissa’s made quite a few recipes of his from his new book – 101 Asian Dishes You Need To Cook Before You Die, and they were all delicious.If you’re not familiar, Jet Tila is probably best known by his time judging Cutthroat Kitchen, but before that, got his really huge start with CARROT POTATO SOUP! A VEGAN/VEGETARIAN RECIPE Instructions. Heat the olive oil in a large stock pot over medium heat. Add in the onion, and cook until translucent, about 7 minutes. Turn the heat up to high, and add the garlic and carrots. Cook for about 5 minutes, until the carrots are slightly caramelized. Add in the potato, vegetable stock, turmeric, thyme, bay leaves, salt. VEGAN PAELLA RECIPE: A TWIST ON SPANISH PAELLA W/ BEYOND Cut the Beyond Sausage into coins on a bias, about 10 slices per sausage. Add olive oil to the hot saute pan, and sear the sausage on both sides, about 2 minutes per side. Remove to a plate, and reserve. Reduce heat to medium on the pan, and add the onions. Stir, and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic, salt, and pepper,

SOYRIZO BREAKFAST BURRITOS Instructions. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add in the olive oil, and onion. Cook until the onion is translucent and slightly browned on the edges, about 5 minutes. Crumble the tofu into the pan, stirring to combine. Cook for about 3 minutes, then add the salt, pepper, and turmeric. Mix well. THE HISTORY OF THE BOYSENBERRY » THE DEVIL WEARS PARSLEY Rudolph Boysen was a horticulturist who had created this beautiful maroon-colored berry. He pollinated the common Blackberry with pollen from European Raspberries, American Dewberries, and Loganberries. 1 2. As a result of this pollination, the seedlings produced a two inch long berry! Mr. Boysen moved to his in-law’s farm in Anaheim, where HATCH CHILE CHICKEN BREAKFAST SAUSAGE & HATCH CHILE Instructions. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, and using a spatula, gently combine. Using a 1/4 cup scoop, gently scoop onto a saran wrap lined plate, and press gently to flatten to 1/4 inch thick. Cover with plastic wrap, and allow to rest for 2-4 hours or overnight. ITALIAN HOT SAUSAGE SANDWICHES Instructions. For The Sausages. In a medium sized skillet, add the water, olive oil, and sausages, and turn to medium-high heat. Turn the sausages frequently as they boil in the water, until all the water boils out, about 10 minutes. Turn the heat down to medium, and continue to cook the sausage in the remaining oil to brown them, about

10 minutes.

TEMPEH CALZONES

Preheat your oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Crumble the tempeh into small, bite sized pieces, 1/4 to 1/2 inch pieces. Add the tempeh to a medium sized bowl, and toss with 2 teaspoons olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon salt, pepper, and fennel seed. Heat a pan over medium heat, add the remaining 2 teaspoons olive oil and tempeh mixture. FRESH, RIPE JACKFRUIT To get to the seed, you have to cut the fruit pod open, and separate the seed. There is a jacket-like covering around the seed that should be discarded. Save the seeds, as they are entirely edible (recipe is coming soon), though there is a harder shell that needs to be removed

for that too.

This week, my handsome Hubby and I reviewed Robinson’s Family Brewer’s Iron Maiden Trooper.This is an Extra Special / Strong Bitter (ESB), and was made wildly popular because of the band Iron Maiden. TIME TO COME CLEAN! KIMBERLY SNYDER'S THREE DAY GLOW BIO Enter Kimberly Snyder’s three day cleanse. Y’all know I’m a total fan-girl of hers. She walks the walk, and looks absolutely gorgeous. She has the option of a one, three and seven day cleanse, and I chose the three day. SCALLOPED POTATOES WITH CARAMELIZED ONIONS Caramelized onions take time; at least 30 minutes.Medium-Low heat, for a slow cook, and a good amount of fat helps keep the onions from searing too much. They Reduce . Always make more onions than you think

you’ll need.

BEET MACARONI SALAD

You could roast your own beets too, if that’s your jam. The Melissa’s Steamed Beets are just so great in a pinch. Well, that’s pretty much it. A basic, vegan macaroni salad with a twist. It’s delicious, and has things that are good for you in it! SPENT SPINACH PIE » LET'S FORAGE WITH THE DEVIL WEARS PARSLEY This plant was originally brought to the US by way of Europe in the 1880’s, where it was used medicinally and also for erosion control. It is also incredibly invasive, and according to the Nature Conservancy is a threat to forest ecosystems.It’s one of the first spring plants to grow, and because it’s so prolific, it blocks out sunlight to some of the other native plants found in the CUBAN SANDWICH SALAD Heat a large skillet over high heat, and add two tablespoons of olive oil to the pan once it becomes hot. I recently had the ultimate privilege to meet the legendary Jet Tila, at Melissa’s Produce.The team at Melissa’s made quite a few recipes of his from his new book – 101 Asian Dishes You Need To Cook Before You Die, and they were all delicious.If you’re not familiar, Jet Tila is probably best known by his time judging Cutthroat Kitchen, but before that, got his really huge start with CARROT POTATO SOUP! A VEGAN/VEGETARIAN RECIPE Instructions. Heat the olive oil in a large stock pot over medium heat. Add in the onion, and cook until translucent, about 7 minutes. Turn the heat up to high, and add the garlic and carrots. Cook for about 5 minutes, until the carrots are slightly caramelized. Add in the potato, vegetable stock, turmeric, thyme, bay leaves, salt. SOYRIZO BREAKFAST BURRITOS Instructions. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add in the olive oil, and onion. Cook until the onion is translucent and slightly browned on the edges, about 5 minutes. Crumble the tofu into the pan, stirring to combine. Cook for about 3 minutes, then add the salt, pepper, and turmeric. Mix well. Add the potatoes to the cold water, cover, and bring to a boil for 10 minutes, or until fork tender. While the potatoes are boiling, in a medium sized bowl, add the Vegenaise, ketchup, curry powder, and salt, and mix well.

TEMPEH CALZONES

Preheat your oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Crumble the tempeh into small, bite sized pieces, 1/4 to 1/2 inch pieces. Add the tempeh to a medium sized bowl, and toss with 2 teaspoons olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon salt, pepper, and fennel seed. Heat a pan over medium heat, add the remaining 2 teaspoons olive oil and tempeh mixture. Boil macaroni pasta as per package directions. In a small bowl, add mayonnaise, lemon juice, red onion, celery, green olives, parsley, salt, pepper, and beet juice from Melissa's Steamed Beets Package. When the pasta is tender, drain in a colander and add to a large bowl. Add in sliced and quartered Melissa's Steamed Beets, and mayonnaise
