In fact, the Misery Ridge Trail could be renamed “Awesome” Ridge, because that’s what it is when you get up to the 3,360 foot summit. The Smith Rock Bivy Campground Re-opens Tomorrow, May 27

May 26, 2021

After over a year in hiatus due to COVID closures, Smith Rock State Park management announced today that they will be re-opening the Bivouac Camp this Thursday, May 27th. Parking will be initially reduced to limit total capacity, and the showers will be limited to registered overnight guests only and locked nightly. The cliff rim sites in the tent area are closed for nesting Bald Eagle protection.
