SUMMER BAYCAMPS

During our week-long, full- and half-day camps, children enjoy hands-on exploration of Rhode Island’s greatest natural resource: Narragansett Bay. With activities including everything from science to crafts, there’s a camp for every child who loves the outdoors. SAVE THE BAY SWIM 2021 Save The Bay will also bring back the Virtual Swim and Open Series, offering challenges that can be completed independently and remotely, including the classic 2.0-mile long swim, the new 0.5-mile short swim, a 5K run or walk, a 25-mile ride, a 5K row, a 5.0-mile kayak or a 2.0-mile stand up paddleboard. EXPLORATION CENTER AND AQUARIUM The Exploration Center and Aquarium. Our interactive marine science center is home to more than 40 species from Narragansett Bay, as well as three touch tanks and dozens of exhibits to get you up close and personal with little skates, dogfish sharks, urchins,

How We Work. Save The Bay®-Narragansett Bay is a member-supported nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and improving Narragansett Bay and all the waters that flow into it. The Narragansett Bay watershed offers 400 miles of coastline and stretches 1,705 square miles inland, covering most of Rhode Island and much of

Massachusetts.

Save The Bay Drive becomes a circular, one-way roadway as you approach the Bay Center. Parking is available in four guest lots after you pass the main building. ASSESSING RIVER & STREAM CONTINUITY Deep in the headwaters of the Woonasquatucket River watershed, Riverkeeper Kate McPherson assesses road-stream crossings as part of R.I’s River and Stream Continuity Pilot Program. REDUCING POLLUTED RUNOFF IN A TOWN NEAR YOU Increased development and precipitation changes around the Bay mean more pollution and more beach closures, adding to our sense of urgency to address the problem of polluted runoff. FIGHTING FOR ATLANTIC HERRING This fall, we championed strong, ecosystem-based management measures for the Atlantic herring—one of the most important keystone species in the Narragansett Bay ecosystem. _*PLEASE NOTE:  Be sure to access the Johnson & Wales University Harborside Campus through the main entrance on Harborside Blvd. Your GPS may suggest taking Ernest Street to JWU’s Shipyard Street entrance, but that route requires a key card for entry.  _ From Route I-95 North or South, take Exit 18 (Thurbers Avenue). Head downhill on Thurbers Avenue to US Route 1A (Allens Avenue). Turn right onto Allens Ave. Continue southbound on Allens Ave. into Cranston, where Allens Ave. becomes Narragansett Blvd. Turn left onto Harborside Blvd. at the traffic light by the Shell gas station. Follow Harborside Blvd. through the Johnson & Wales Harborside Campus. At the end of Harborside Blvd., turn right onto Save The Bay Drive. Save The Bay Drive becomes a circular, one-way roadway as you approach the Bay Center. Parking is available in four guest lots after you pass the main building. Enter the building through the main entrance.
