ROME PUBLIC TRANSPORT: HOW TO FIND YOUR WAY AROUND IN ROME Rome is one of those cities that really does provide an excellent experience for those able to walk round the centre of the city. There is so much to discover round every corner. However, it is not always possible or enjoyable to walk everywhere, so Rome has an excellent public transport system including the metro, buses and trains. With Rome being such an ancient city, you will though find areas that even public transport cannot easily or quickly serve.

Unusually for a major city, the centre  of Rome is not that well served by the Metro. Fast and cheap, with a new line being slowly added in stages will make things easier.
