In the space of just 7 years, he went from pauper to millionaire, built 3,000 miles of railroad tracks, and founded 40 towns. THE PULLMAN HISTORY SITE : PULLMAN WAR SERVICE : PULLMAN This included a 3.150 caliber dual purpose gun, hedgehog anti-submarine rockets, six 20mm anti-aircraft guns, two 40mm guns, and depth charge launchers. Typical of these ships were the USS PCE (R)-851, 852, and 853 built by the Pullman Standard Manufacturing Company in Chicago and commissioned in mid 1944. Manned by a crew ofsome 90 enlisted
