On March 28, 1878 the Pacific Lumber & Wood Co. incorporated. The company began construction on a railroad from the log chute to the woods. In August they purchased a second hand Porter 0-4-0T locomotive from the Sutro Tunnel Company of Dayton Nevada. The locomotive received a new wooden cab and a diamond stack.PACIFICNG.ORG

In 1917 the company constructed a railroad from the mine to an ore bunker and wharf at Alice Arm. Operations were short lived and the line shut down due to litigationin 1921.

By leasing the NY&E shops Brooks had a ready-made facility for locomotive construction and labor force and the doors were opened on November 11,1869.

The company began construction on a railroad from the log chute to the woods. In August they purchased a second hand Porter 0-4-0T locomotive from the Sutro Tunnel Company of Dayton Nevada.
