In Benin, OSIWA has supported civil society coalitions working on issues of constitutional reform, corruption, political empowerment and participation of women and youth, and training and capacity building for newly elected local government officials. These efforts have strengthened some of the coalitions’ core members.

Through tools including grants, advocacy, litigation, partnership building, knowledge generation / research, and technical assistance, OSIWA fosters citizen participation in the building of a region that is freer, more vibrant and more tolerant. We are firm in the belief that citizen participation is the cornerstone of democracy.

WHERE WE WORK

BENIN. In Benin, OSIWA has supported civil society coalitions working on issues of constitutional reform, corruption, political empowerment and participation of women and youth, and training and capacity building for newly elected local government officials. These efforts have strengthened some of the coalitions’ core members.

SOWA 2021 – OSIWA

Sierra Leone. OSIWA’s first report of 2021 on the state of West Africa covers recent developments and trends in the region, with specific emphasis on developments in democracy, political governance, the COVID 19 pandemic and prospects for the region in 2021.
