THE NORWEGIAN NATIONAL BALLET 2 The Norwegian National Ballet 2 consists of a core of 13 Norwegian and foreign talents between the ages of 17 and 23. The company is headed by assistant ballet director at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet, Richard Suttie. Since its launch in 2015, the Norwegian National Ballet 2 has left its impression on the Norwegian dance scene.

GUIDED TOURS

You will also learn about architecture, stage technology, opera and ballet from our knowledgeable guides. A guided tour lasts around 50 minutes. Max. capacity of 15 persons. Every step in the process of creating performance art can be completed here. ELI KRISTIN HANSSVEEN Eli Kristin Hanssveen has a broad musical range, and has previously sung both pop and folk songs. She has done several CD-recordings, including her first solo-CD of arias, released in 2013: Sempre libera. In autumn 2013 she sang the part as Eurydice in Gluck's Orpheus and Eurydice and starred in the programme Stjernekamp on NRK.

MAIKO NISHINO

Principal Dancer. Since arriving at the Norwegian National Ballet in 1999, Maiko Nishino has starred in both the classical and modern repertoire and become one of the company's leading dancers. She was appointed Principal Dancer in 2005, the same year in which she received the Critics' Award for the role of Odette/Odile in Swan Lake.

KATHRYN WALSH THOMAS Since American Kathryn Walsh Thomas joined the Norwegian National Ballet in 2006, she has danced in the role of Amor in Nureyev’s Don Quixote and Bluebird pas de deux in Sleeping Beauty, prominent roles in Forsythe’s ballets The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude and Limbs' Theorem, as well as in his One Flat Thing, reproduced and In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated.
