Portland, Maine: On June 6, 2020, the Maine Historical Society (MHS) Board of Trustees convened its 198th Annual Meeting for the first time in its history in a new online platform because of the coronavirus pandemic. Board President Jean Gulliver welcomed new members to the statewide organization, and Executive Director Steve Bromage presented awards to community leaders and Trustees for their INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY MEMBERSHIP One membership card, with the institutions name affixed. This card may be used by up to 2 employees of the institution at any one time. VISITING THE BROWN RESEARCH LIBRARY MHS DISCUSSION BOARD: EBENEZER PARKER, DEPUTY SHERIFF Ebenezer served our agency as a Deputy Sheriff. Deputy Parker was killed in the line of duty on January 18, 1808. Parker was killed by one Joseph Drew who was apprehended and after an examination before S. Freeman, Esq. was commited to jail for trial at the Supreme Court (Portland) in May of 1808.
