The Law. The law which provides for civil legal aid services can be found in the Civil Legal Aid Act 1995 (referred to throughout this document as “the Act”), which established the Legal Aid Board as an independent statutory body. The Board was originally established in 1980 on an administrative basis only. ACT AND REGULATIONS
Act and Regulations. The law in relation to the taking of decisions in relation to any application for legal aid is set out in the Act and Regulations.
RECOVERING COSTS
Recovering costs. There are three main aspects to recovering costs: Arranging for money recovered to be paid to the Legal Aid Fund; Calculating the bill of costs CHILDCARE MATTERS
