Muthulakshmana Rao & Troupe of Theni district, Tamil Nadu. Rao hails from Genguvarpatti in Theni district and whose family has been performing ‘Thol pavai koothu’ for generations. They performed a narrative based on the story of 'Kishkinda Kandam', an episode of Ramayana. Kids and Family. KNMA seeks to generate spaces where children and their families can explore art together through hands on activities, gallery trails and story telling sessions. The Museum aspires to become a locus for such activities where parents can bring their children on weekends or after school for educational yet fun filledexcursions.
OPEN STUDIO SATURDAYS Open Studio Saturdays. These workshops take place every Saturday and are among the most popular programs at the Museum. Parents bring in their kids and children from the local community are encouraged to get initiated in art making through workshops on various art and craft techniques. Some of these techniques include Shadow Art, Kite Making INDIAN ART DIRECTOR AND CHIEF CURATOR Roobina Karode is the Director and Chief Curator at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, the first private modern and contemporary art museum in India. Since its inception in 2010, she has curated several acclaimed exhibitions at KNMA. Karode curated 'Open Doors' at the launch of KNMA Noida in 2010 and 'Time Unfolded' at the opening of KNMA Saket in ZARINA – A LIFE IN NINE LINES Zarina: A Life in Nine Lines | Across Decades - Borders - Geographies is a solo show dedicated to the artistic career of Zarina Hashmi.
