That’s far above the ten-year average, which is 3.28million pounds
CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY FOR PETERSBURG AFFORDABLE HOUSING An excavator prepares the future site of the 15-apartment building on Excel Street this month. (Joe Viechnicki/KFSK) Construction has started on a multi-million dollar affordable housing project next to the Petersburg Medical Center. ROAD REHAB STARTS EAST OF KAKE, NEW ROAD PERMIT PENDING Contractors are preparing to begin work on repair and expansion of remote forest roads on Kupreanof Island in Southeast Alaska. The controversial $40 million project may extend the road from the village of Kake to a proposed new boat ramp north of Petersburg. Five miles of new road still awaits approval from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Critics of the project want a public hearing on that TEXTING 911 NOW OFFERED IN WRANGELL, PETERSBURG AREA Petersburg police are now able to receive text messages to 911 from some people with cell phones.
