The Foundation was founded in 1948 by Beatrice Joyce Kean, the sole heir of the Joyce family, which built its wealth in lumber and related industries. Kayce Ataiyero is the managing director of communications at the Joyce Foundation, where she oversees communications strategy, the journalism portfolio and public engagement supporting the philanthropy’s grant making in the Great Lakes region. NINA VINIK | THE JOYCE FOUNDATION Nina Vinik is an attorney and expert in the policy and practice of gun violence prevention, and the reform of policing and the criminal justice system.
