An experience for the senses. As a visitor, you step into an exhibition made up of an enigmatic and expressive landscape. The light wood casing on the walls is a reference to the Nordic context, while the sloping floors remind one of high sea, and luminous glass windows are cut into the walls as another reference to Mitzvah.THE HIDDEN CHILDREN
The age distribution of the hidden children indicates how the parents and helpers judged the risk of bringing along small children. Up to 60 % of the hidden children were under 5 years old. 25% were under or close to 1 year old. The youngest was only 6 days old, the oldest 17 years. Jeff Ibbos mor sendte postkort til Jeff fra Sverige. Jeff var to år i 1943, og han kom til at bo hos sin mors ikke-jødiske kusine i Lyngby. Da han blev hentet efter, krigen savnede han sine plejeforældrevoldsomt.

Byens jødiske historie går således helt tilbage til år 1675, da tobakspinderen Abraham Jacobsen Levi som den første jøde opnåede opholdstilladelse i byen, hvilket samtidig var en af de ODENSE BEGRAVELSESPLADS Odense begravelsesplads. I 1825 valgte den jødiske menighed i Odense at opkøbe en jordlod med henblik på at oprette en jødisk begravelsesplads. Returning home. When Denmark was liberated on May 4, 1945, a surge of joy went through Danes both at home and abroad. The over 7,000 Jewish refugees who were in Sweden and the deported Jews, who had been brought home from Theresienstadt in the White Busses, could returnhome.

The parents of the hidden children came from all social THE ROYAL BOAT HOUSE The Royal Boat House. The Danish Jewish Museum is located in the oldest part of the Royal Library, originally the Royal Boat House in King Christian IV's (1588-1648) newly established harbor complex. Daniel Libeskind has based his design of the museum on the unique circumstance of Danish-Jewish history that the majority of Danish Jews were saved from Nazi persecution by their Danish compatriots during the Second World War. When the German occupying powers began the mass arrest of Jews in October 1943, 95% of the Danish Jews made it to safety in Sweden, among them over 1200 children.
