INTERSEX DAY OF SOLIDARITY Intersex Day of Solidarity, also known as Intersex Day of Remembrance, takes place on November 8.The Day marks the birthday of Herculine Barbin, a French intersex person whose memoirs were later published by the philosopher Michel Foucault, along with contemporary texts and a INTERSEX-LED AND ALLIED ORGANIZATIONS An incomplete but growing listing of intersex-led organizations, plus some closely allied organizations known to center intersex voices in

their work.

UNDERSTANDING INTERSEX STIGMA IN UGANDA Normally, just being a girl or a boy in Uganda and the East African region generally – without any sex development differences – comes with more than enough cultural, religious, and political expectations, demands, impositions, and prejudices. Prejudices that form most of the gender inequities and human rights issues we still battle with. THE MARKS ON OUR BODIES At this point, I need enter at least three considerations about language: (1) for those who, like me, speak, write, breath, love and fight in a language other than English, decolonizing the way in which we are named multiplies to include not only medical speech but also the terms imposed by the Anglophone hegemony within international conversations on intersex; (2) the construction of an MY EXPERIENCE AS THE WORLD’S FIRST OPENLY INTERSEX MAYOR My experience as the world’s first openly intersex Mayor.
