LATE FINE FREE

The IndyPL Board of Trustees approved the discontinuation of charging late fines in April 2020 to ensure that The Library would not add any financial hardship for patrons. From June through December 2021 The Library, in collaboration with the US Citizenship and Immigration, will host two dates a month with five services (9 am, 10 am, 11 am, 1 pm, and 2 pm). LAWRENCE | INDIANAPOLIS PUBLIC LIBRARY A 3.44 acre site was purchased from MSD Lawrence Township for a new 13,500-square-foot library that opened in 1983. Renovated in 2020, the Lawrence Branch re-opened to changes that maximized access to the Library’s services and collections, created engaging and functional spaces for those of all ages, and increased access to new technology.

EAST 38TH STREET

The first library to serve the neighborhood opened in 1957 as the Emerson Branch. This frame house near East 38th Street and North Emerson Avenue soon became too small to meet the neighborhood's needs, leading to construction of a 7,500-square-foot branch at the same

location in 1962.

PIKE | INDIANAPOLIS PUBLIC LIBRARY In 1974, the library purchased 2.76 acres on Zionsville Road from MSD Pike Township for construction of the current 13,000-square-foot Pike Branch that opened in 1986. Its design was cited by the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The branch was remodeled and

KIDS SUMMER READING PROGRAM Prizes are earned when you have read for 1 hour, 5 hours, 10 hours, 15 hours, and 20 hours, or have completed seven of the DISCOVER activities. SCIENCE EXPERIMENT: HYDROLOGIC (WATER)… Science Experiment Idea: Make three identical terrariums. You have to use the same kind of container, the same amount of soil & the same plants. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Masters of Library Science, both from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Persons who reside in unserved library districts in the state of Indiana may purchase a non-resident Library card for an annual fee. Persons who live in another library district and have a library card from their “home” library or who have purchased a non-resident library card may purchase a Public Library Access Card (PLAC).

SEED LIBRARY

About the Seed Library. We provide seeds for check-out as well as education and resources about growing and saving seeds and organic gardening. The Seed Library is open and free to the public.
