VALLEY OF FIRE STATE PARK CAMPGROUNDS Camping in Valley of Fire State Park is a real pleasure with nicely established campsites wrapped by bold formations of red sandstone. Atlatl Rock Campground and nearby Arch Rock Campground, both located on the west side of the park offer great camping experiences for visitors to Valley of Fire State Park.. General Camping Information HIKES IN THE SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAINS The tallest peaks are located on the east side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The highest point in the lower 48 states, Mount Whitney rises to 14,505 feet, and is one a dozen 14ers in the High Sierra. The Sierra Nevada Mountains contain all of the world’s natural groves of giant sequoias, including the world’s largest tree, the GeneralSherman Tree.
HIGHLINE TRAIL
To get to the trailhead: Highline Trail starts at Logan Pass on Going-to-the-Sun Road at the Continental Divide. The Loop is located 7.75 miles down the same road west side of the divide.
