The Hand in Hand school in the Wadi Ara district, called the Gesher on the Wadi (or in English, Bridge on the Wadi) is located in Kafr Kara. Notable for being the first Hand in Hand school situated in an Arab village, Gesher on the Wadi brings Jewish students into an Arab locale for school; something that is nearly unheard of in Israel. Identity Project. Our Haifa school works hard to ensure ongoing dialogue within the community. The Haifa community has an going relationship with the Forum of Bereaved Families (organization of Arab and Jewish families who have lost a loved one to the conflict and seek to build peace from their mutual loss).TEACHER TRAINING
The challenging social and pedagogical aspects of the bilingual and integrated experience at HIH schools require that each staff member receives pedagogic support, supervision, and training to effectively implement HIH’s bilingual and multicultural model.
