Tomaro and Mallika Iyer In 2014, the government of the Philippines and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) signed a peace agreement to bring 40 years of armed conflict to an end and establish the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The peace agreement made history as YOUNG WOMEN LEADERS FOR PEACE PROGRAM Developing the Leaders ofToday and Tomorrow. GNWP’s Young Women Leaders for Peace program helps young women and girls gain the skills and build confidence to become leaders in their communities. In countries experiencing conflict and crisis, young women and girls are often overlooked and can be the last to eat, get medical care, or aneducation.
