FORESTRY ENTERPRISE DIVISION Introduction The Forestry Enterprise Division (FED) is a technical wing of the FNCCI looking after the entire spectrum of forest related issues from the stand point of the private sector. The mandate of FED is to “promote forestry commercialization activities and provide inputs in the formulation of private sector friendly policies and strategies in the sector”. According to the Department of Local Infrastructure Development and Agricultural Roads (DoLIDAR), Nepal has 6,683 rural roads, the combined length of which is 50,943 km. Of these, 1,575 km are blacktop, 14,601 km are gravel and 34,766 km are earthen fair-weather roads. At present, 73 districts headquarters out of 75 have access toroads.

Sector Overview. Nepal lies in the centre of the 2,500 km Himalayan belt, which has favourable geography for various minerals (metallic, non-metallic, and fuel). As many as 63 minerals have been identified in Nepal. In 2010/11, 80 mines and quarries for 12 different minerals were in operation. Of these, 29 are limestone quarries and 6 gemmines.

TOURISM - FEDERATION OF NEPALESE CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND The number of tourists jumped from 380,000 in 2006 to about 800,000 in 2013. Recent data shows that more than two-thirds of tourists come for holidays, trekking expeditions, or pilgrimages. About a third of tourists are between the ages of 30–45 and about 20% are from India.
