CADASTRAL SUBCOMMITTEE The Cadastral Subcommittee develops and implements plans to coordinate cadastral data-related activities among Federal, State, Tribal, and local governments, and the private sector. As examples, subcommittee members work with the wildland fire community to identify sources of land parcel data, standardize available data, and build GEOSPATIAL TRANSPORTATION SUBCOMMITTEE Note: Working Group and Subcommittee Charter Updates The Geospatial Transportation Subcommittee (GTS) enhances the Transportation Theme of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure by facilitating partnerships, coordinating efforts, and heightening awareness among the geospatial-transportation community. The committee promotes best practices and develops transportation standards to SPATIAL DATA TRANSFER STANDARD (SDTS), PARTS 1-7 GML was originally developed by OGC, which is an international industry consortium of nearly 500 companies, government agencies and universities that participate in a open consensus process to develop publicly available interface standards. The OGC lists 40 organizations with 89 products with 95 implementations of GML 3.2.1. GML 3.2.1 was CLASSIFICATION OF WETLANDS AND DEEPWATER HABITATS OF THE Preface The Classification of Wetlands and Deepwater Habitats of the United States (Cowardin et al. 1979) was developed to support a detailed inventory and periodic monitoring of the Nation’s wet habitats using remote sensing. The Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) has developed a new National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) Strategic Plan (pdf). The plan, which covers the years 2021-2024, was approved by the FGDC Steering Committee in November 2020. NSDI FRAMEWORK

The National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) is a means to assemble geographic data nationwide to serve a variety of users. GIS applications of many different disciplines have GEOSPATIAL DATA ACT OF 2018 The Geospatial Data Act of 2018 (GDA) was signed into law by the President on October 5, 2018. The GDA was included as a component of the FAA Reauthorization Act (H.R. 302, P.L. 115-254). NATIONAL GEOSPATIAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE The National Geospatial Advisory Committee (NGAC) is a Federal Advisory Committee sponsored by the Department of the Interior. The NGAC is authorized under the Geospatial Data Act of 2018, and operates under the Federal Advisory Committee Act.The NGAC reports to the Chair of the Federal Geographic Data Committee (Secretary of the Interior).
