The Gender Gap. The measurable difference in the way women and men view and vote on issues is known as the “gender gap.” When examined by class and race, disparities in voting tendencies become even more pronounced: Black and Latina women make up the majority of women of the gender gap, along with single women. Today, the U.S. Senate is expected to make a motion to proceed with a vote to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). Since its passing in 1994, this critical piece of legislation has protected millions of women across the country, especially women on collegecampuses.

Whether through art, politics, literature or advocacy queer feminists remind us that even against great adversity and odds, a strong feminist is a force to be reckoned with. WHAT IS CHICANA FEMINISM? Every true feminist is aware of the diversity that exists among all feminists. We come in all colors and from all walks of life. In theorizing Feminism and battling oppression, it is not possible to isolate our gender from our race, our culture, our sexuality, our age, our religion, or our class status. BLACK LIVES MATTER. FOUR REVOLUTIONARY WOMEN YOU SHOULD REMEMBER THIS FOURTH The Fourth of July is the time to celebrate the United States’ rich history and get into the patriotic spirit! Everyone knows about the Founding Fathers and their place within that history, but there are some amazing women who had a huge influence as well. 7 WAYS YOU CAN USE YOUR CISGENDER PRIVILEGE FOR GOOD Two weeks ago was Trans Week of Remembrance.
