DATIA RETAINS THE VOGEL GROUP AS GOVERNMENT RELATIONS TEAM ------------------------- Greetings DATIA members, Whew - the first quarter of the year flew by fast! If you’re like me, it feels as if 2021 is just “2020: Part II” so far, with each day seeming to have more tasks to be done than there are hours to do them. That said, as you’ve heard me say loud and often, I continue to be amazed at how our association always rises to the challenge. There are so many exciting things happening with DATIA. We are improving members’ experience, developing new ways for members to connect and expanding our advocacy efforts. One way we are improving the member experience is by launching a new website and database. The new systems are highly automated and user friendly allowing us to better serve you. We are thrilled to connect with members in person again at DATIA’s Annual Conference in Washington D.C., August 25-28. In person education courses that were previously unavailable due to COVID-19 will be back at the Annual Conference. This includes the highly in-demand Certified Professional Collector Trainer Course. On the government affairs front, DATIA has partnered with the acclaimed Vogel Group to advocate on issues related to drug and alcohol testing. We are currently renewing and developing relationships with DOT and also several key congressional representatives. As the “voice” of the Drug & Alcohol industry, we are the experts that officials go to when creating policies related to drug and alcohol testing. Another way members are connecting is through DATIA’s virtual Member Forums. Our first Member Forum took place March 30th.
