HOW TO BEGIN READING PHILOSOPHY If you have never taken a philosophy course, you need four things: 1) a basic understanding of the history of philosophy and how it has influenced theology with an emphasis on ancient Greek philosophy; 2) an introduction to metaphysics, 3) a survey of ethical theory and 4) a course in Aristotelian logic.
